Founded in 1973 by Sylvia and Colin Shepherd, we are a York – based Trust dedicated to supporting our local community.
Each year, we award grants in the region of £200,000 to a wide range of charities across Yorkshire.
We are committed to making a meaningful contribution across society and therefore welcome applications from a wide range of charitable organisations relating to social welfare, health, disability, education, the arts and the environment.
Awards are usually in the range of £500 – £1,000, although larger awards are made on occasion.
The Trust’s priority is to support charitable organisations delivering in and around Yorkshire, with a particular focus on projects within a 25-mile radius of the City of York.
The Trust will consider supporting all charitable causes that are responding to real need and can provide evidence of local delivery.
Charities based outside of Yorkshire, must clearly explain what specific activities are being undertaken within the region. General national appeals will not be considered.
